NORMAN — After almost five hours in executive session behind closed doors, OU's Board of Regents named OU Law Dean Joseph Harroz, Jr. as the university's interim president.
According to the board of regents website, they met in a closed-door meeting around 8:15 p.m. Thursday to discuss who would take over after Jim Gallogly announced his retirement.
In a statement, Chairman Leslie J. Rainholt-Forbes announced why Harroz, Jr., was the perfect fit for the position:
Harroz will begin serving as the president immediately, the board said.
