According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health's weekly flu activity summary, the number of flu deaths have remained the same with zero deaths reported this week, keeping the total 22 in Oklahoma since Sept. 1.
OSDH reports the number of new hospitalizations reported between January 19 - January 25, 2020 are 166.
OSDH report shows the number of new and previously reported hospitalizations with testing between Sept. 1, 2019 - Jan. 18, 2020 are 1026.
OSDH is now reporting there are no new deaths related to the flu, making the total to remain for Oklahoma at 22 cumulative deaths.
The Oklahoma State Department of Health, the Tulsa Health Department and the Oklahoma City-County Health Department say this year's flu virus is particularly unusual and they expect it to be severe.
