According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health's weekly flu activity summary, the number of flu deaths have increased by 1, making the total 36 in Oklahoma since Sept. 1.
OSDH reports the number of new hospitalizations reported between February 9 - February 15, 2020 are 240.
OSDH report shows the number of new and previously reported hospitalizations with testing between Sept. 1, 2019 - Feb. 8, 2020 are 1730.
OSDH is now reporting there has been one death related to the flu between Feb. 9 and Feb. 15, making the total for Oklahoma 36 cumulative deaths.
The Oklahoma State Department of Health, the Tulsa Health Department and the Oklahoma City-County Health Department say this year's flu virus is particularly unusual and they expect it to be severe.
