OSBI is investigating a deadly deputy-involved shooting in Okmulgee

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating a deadly deputy-involved shooting in Okmulgee.

According to Okmulgee County Sheriff's office, the shooting happened at 9:30 p.m. Saturday night at North Sherman avenue and Belmont street.

Authorities said they started chasing a suspect on a motorcycle, then the suspect took off on foot

OSBI has confirmed the deceased as Justin Snelson, a 54-year-old white male.

The case is still being investigated and more details will be released as they become available.

The deputy, who has not been identified is on paid administrative leave.
