OSBI Arrest Two In Connection To Murder Of Cushing Man

CUSHING — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation say they arrested two in connection to a suspicious death and fire that happened in Cushing, Okla.

OSBI says they arrested two people in connection the the murder of 40-year-old Patrick McGuire.

Investigators say, just after midnight on Feb. 19, they arrested 23-year-old Troy Wayne (TJ) Shadowen and 29-year-old Bridgett Barton in connection to the murder and fire set to McGuire's travel trailer.

Investigators say Barton was charged with one count of burglary in the first degree, while Shadowen faces one count each for first degree murder, arson in the first degree and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Both are currently in the Payne County Jail and could face additional charges, OSBI says.

OSBI says around 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 17, a driver saw a travel trailer on fire near West Broadway Street and North Wade Avenue in Cushing, Okla.

The driver called 911 to report the fire and responders found McGuire dead at the scene, says OSBI.

OSBI says Patrick McGuire was last seen alive this morning around 5 a.m.
