BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been called in to investigate an officer-involved shooting that happened in Bartlesville on Saturday night.
The shooting happened at a home in the 1300 block of SE Madison shortly before 8 p.m.
Police said they were called to the home on a domestic disturbance after an adult son inside the home appeared to be on drugs. Family members wanted him removed from the home.
Two Bartlesville police officers arrived at the home and spoke to parents.
A struggle ensued with the son, police said, and officers used a Taser on him. Officers asked dispatch for more officers to respond to the home, and at some point during the situation, shots were fired and and the adult son died of an apparent gun shot wound, police said.
The man killed was identified as Thomas Goodeyes Gay, 35, of Oologah.
The two officers involved in the situation have been placed on administrative leave.
