OSBI investigates 'suspicious' death at Latimer County Detention Center

LATIMER COUNTY, Okla. -- The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation was called in to help investigate a suspicious death on Christmas Eve at the Latimer County Detention Center.

Officials said just after 5 a.m. on Dec. 24, Thasha Prindle was found unresponsive by a detention officer.

Prindle was pronounced dead and the cell was secured as a possible crime scene.

Officials said Prindle was involved in a car accident on Dec. 23 and was arrested for driving under the influence. Prindle was treated at an area hospital before being taken to the jail. 

The medical examiner's office is working to determine a cause of death.
