TULSA, Okla. — Operation Aware of Tulsa is gearing up for its annual fundraiser, which will go to help run its youth-centered programs.

“Havana Nights” is the theme for this year’s fundraiser, and 2 Works For You chief meteorologist Mike Collier will serve as emcee for the April 26 event at the Mayo Hotel.

The nonprofit has paired Tulsa-area students with professional artists to create a unique artwork together, which will be auctioned off at the fundraiser.

There will be a silent auction, live music, and hors d’oeuvres followed by a sit-down dinner and live auction. The fun begins at 6:30 p.m.

Operation Aware uses prevention education to help young people make positive life choices. It offers an eight-week program, as well as school assemblies and group activities that address bullying, self-esteem, goals and decision-making, and drug, alcohol and tobacco prevention.
