Oologah schools cautious after reported threat

Posted

OOLOGAH, Okla. – Local authority and Oologah school officials are taking extra precaution Tuesday after reports of a threat made to one of the schools is still being investigated.

The alleged threat was made on an app that allows pictures or content to be viewed for a certain amount of time before it vanishes: Kik. It is currently not known which school may have been directly addressed in the alleged threat but 2 Works for You is working to confirm that information.

According to the school’s superintendent, a student noticed the message and took a screen shot picture and alerted school officials. Currently the suspect, who is reportedly a minor, is in police custody.

As an extra safety precaution, one Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper as well as the Oologah police chief are monitoring the school to make sure nothing else happens.
