MUSKOGEE, Okla. — A suspect is arrested after allegedly shooting at Muskogee police Thursday, according to the Muskogee Police Department.
Officers responded to a domestic violence call at a residence near North 35th Street and Court Street.
When officers arrived, the suspect began shooting at officers as they exited their vehicles, officials said. The officers shot back and took cover behind their patrol unit. Police then brought in additional officers to help provide cover during the shooting.
A negotiator contacted the suspect by cell phone and convinced the suspect to come out of the residence with his hands up, officials said.
The suspect was taken into custody after surrendering.
No one was hurt in the shooting.
Officials said the suspect is a member of a federally recognized Native American Tribe.
The FBI is investigating the incident.
