One in custody after a fatal stabbing in Muskogee

Saturday afternoon Muskogee police officers were dispatched to a possible robbery and assault in the 500 block of North 6th street.

Upon arrival officers met with several people, one of the individuals had been stabbed, later identified as Jimmy Thompson.

According to the report, Thompson was transported to St. Francis in Muskogee and later died as a result of his injury.

Investigators were called to the scene to conduct interviews with several people there.

Allen Syfrett was identified as a possible suspect.

He was located at another residence and was taken into custody.

The medical examiner has not released an official cause of death at this time.
