TULSA -- The Tulsa Police Department has identified the suspect and victim in a fatal midtown shooting Monday afternoon.

Quavis Cato, 25, was identified as the man who was fatally shot on October 10, says Tulsa police.

According to police, the shooting happened on the 1200 block of South 73rd East Avenue. Joseph Johnson, 20, allegedly shot the victim outside a midtown home after the two got into an argument about an exchange of cars, say police.

The victim was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

Police say Johnson fled the scene in a 1999 red Chevrolet Tahoe with Oklahoma License plate 660 PDS. This is Tulsa's 58th Homicide of 2016.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.

Neighbors say they're used to hearing arguments in this neighborhood or the occasional car speeding up the road. But this midday murder is prompting some who live nearby to think about moving out.

Machelle Barbee lives right across the street from the murder scene.

"This is too close to freaking home man," Barbee said.

Her sister Belinda Martinez has six kids and often visits Machelle.

"They could've shot one of the kids or they could've shot me or whoever was walking a pedestrian walking up and down the street anybody I guess they didn't care," Martinez said.
