Santa Claus is busy this time of year, but we got a chance to ask him just a few questions about the children he sees and what he hears from them.

Some of Santa's visitors can be a little apprehensive.

After all, he's the stuff of legends.

Parents throw down Santa's name all year as a threat to get their children to behave, and he is the one person who decides if presents will be under the tree.

One child asked for a dog - a  golden retriever to be exact, but Santa would never bring it without clearance from mom and dad.

And what do the little ones, like Alex, want?

"This is just a Minecraft book. I love Minecraft," Alex says in glee.

"I thought you did," Santa says in return.

Santa says his only job at Christmas is to keep the magic of the holiday alive, for children of all ages, but sometimes he still gets a surprise or two.

"I had a marriage proposal right here the other day, and she said yes," Santa said.

Santa also hears from kids who believe he can make all of their wishes come true, like one little girl.

"She kept lingering around I knew that she had something that she wanted to say," Santa said. "I called her over and asked her if she had something she wanted to say and asked her if there was something she wanted or needed for Christmas and she said her daddy was in jail and she just wanted her daddy to come home."

All of Santa's visitors have different wishes - iPhones, hoverboards, fingerlings, and dolls are common this year.

And, this isn't just all about the kids, Santa asks a little in return.

"Keep your room clean," Santa says with a laugh.
