Two Okmulgee boys were found safe after they went missing and were considered in danger over the weekend, say police.
The boys’ mother, Amber Cornelius, 32, is accused of abducting them Saturday morning.
According to the Department of Corrections, Cornelius was on probation for first degree manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.
Okmulgee resident, Amber Cossey, said she took care of Malachi and Zachary for three months until they ran away.
"They started spending the night because we couldn't get in touch with the mother," said Cossey.
She claimed Cornelius dropped the children off at her home in May and never came back.
Cossey said the brothers were friends with her children, so she never thought twice about taking them in. She thought Cornelius would eventually come back for them.
"They were starving, that's why I took them in. They had no food over there. She would trade her food stamps on drugs," she said.
