Okmulgee County: Deputies seek information after dog shot, left for dead

OKMULGEE COUNTY, Okla. -- Deputies are looking for the person responsible for shooting a six-month-old dog and leaving it for dead.

On Wednesday, deputies located the dog abandoned on Gun Club Road near Okmulgee. The dog was in a locked cage and had been left out in the sun without food or water. Deputies said the dog had been shot several times.

The dog was immediately taken in by the Okmulgee County Humane Society, and it is expected to survive.

The Oklahoma Alliance for Animals is offering a $5,000 reward for information which leads to an arrest in the case.
