OKMULGEE COUNTY--A man in Okmulgee County is behind bars after deputies say he barricaded himself in a house, armed with a weapon.

Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Team responded on March 2 at the 5000 block of Harreld Road in reference to a disturbance.

Deputies say that 48-year-old Shawn Clark had attempted to assault another person with a weapon, and when they attempted to make contact with Clark, he barricaded himself.

After a standoff that lasted several hours, the Special Operations Team entered the residence where they discovered Clark had crawled underneath the house and suffered a medical condition.

The Special Operations Team then had to rescue Clark and extricate him from underneath the residence.

Clark was then transported to a local hospital for treatment. After being released from the hospital he was booked into the Okmulgee County Jail on charges of Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Threating an Act of Violence, and outstanding warrants.
