BARTLESVILLE, Okla. -- A lockdown at Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville has been lifted.
The University sent out a notification to students Friday that read, "We are under a lockdown. Leave campus or lock yourself now. This I said not a drill [sic]."
A later notification was sent to students saying, "They got him. Feel free to leave buildings. This is official clear [sic]."
Police in Bartlesville now say there was no shooter on campus. Officials say the incident stemmed from a threat made several days ago when someone allegedly posted an image with a weapon on Snapchat saying they were going to hurt someone.
