SHAWNEE, Okla. (AP) -- An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle while helping a motorist along Interstate 40 east of Oklahoma City.

The trooper was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital with leg and head injuries and possible internal injuries.

Vincent said he hasn't been told whether the injuries are life-threatening.
