NEWCASTLE, Okla. — An Oklahoma teenager nearly killed in a car wreck back in 2017 is celebrating a major milestone after stepping back onto the basketball court, according to KFOR.
Caleb Freeman from Newcastle was in a coma for weeks following the wreck and remained paralyzed for months after waking up.
Officials say he was able to walk again and later start running.
On Friday, Caleb was able to suit up with his teammates for senior night.
Officials say while he missed his first shot, it didn't stop Caleb from giving it his all.
Caleb's team lost 59 to 63, but his family says that sometimes a loss on the court is still a win in the end.
