Oklahoma senators react to President Donald Trump's first address to a joint session of Congress.

"The message we heard tonight from President Trump is one of optimism and of great things to come for this country," said Oklahoma Senator Jim Inhoffe.

The senator stated he agreed with President Trump's stance on the Affordable Care Act (ACA). President Trump urged Congress to come together and repeal and replace the ACA. He mentioned reforms that expand choice, increase access and lower costs.

"We all know it has been a disaster," said Sen. Inhoffe, "This is especially true in Oklahoma, where Obamacare premiums skyrocketed by 78% this year... it is now our job to give Americans real reform that will actually bring costs down."

Another key area that resonated with Oklahoma senators was President Trump's vision on the economy.

"We've got to get the economic activity. That's why I'm so pleased to hear not only tax reform, but regulatory reform, and what we will do to give more power back to the American people, to start businesses, innovate, be more creative and prioritize what's happening here with our economy and growth," said Senator James Lankford.

President Trump promised a trillion dollar infrastructure program, which he said will create new jobs.
