OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Police in Oklahoma City say no vehicles were apparently struck when a man shot at passing motorists along Interstate 35 before being fatally shot by officers.

Capt. Bo Mathews said Tuesday some motorists stopped at the scene and reported their vehicles were struck, but inspections of the vehicles determined no damage was from gunfire.

There are no reports of injuries to motorists.

Mathews says Sgts. Wesley Parsons and Dustin Fulton responded to calls of the shooting Monday and opened fire on the unidentified man after he first dropped a gun and raised his hands, then picked up the weapon and faced the officers.

Mathews says the shooting is unrelated to a shooting Saturday on nearby I-235 when shots from one vehicle into another killed one person and injured a second.
