Oklahoma on track for phase 2 reopening

Monday marks day 17 in the state's phase one reopening plan.

Governor Kevin Stitt says Oklahoma will move into phase two of reopening starting Friday.

"Congratulations to Oklahoma. You have done a fantastic job of social distancing, of sacrificing over the last two months and really flattened that curve," Gov. Stitt said.

The governor says Oklahoma's infection rate is only a quarter of the national average.

He also says in early April when the state first started testing, 10 percent of the coronavirus tests came back positive.

As of tonight, the state is down to 4.9 percent testing positives.

Meaning for every 1,000 Oklahomans tested for the coronavirus, just 49 tests are coming back positive.
