MUSKOGEE, Okla. – The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame is kicking off its fundraising effort to build a Merle Haggard monument the best way it knows how: a concert.

The concert will be held Thursday at 8 p.m. and all proceeds will go towards funding the proposed monument of the late artist.

“All proceeds go toward building this monument that will be in front of the Civic Center. Tickets will be $10. You can just come in at the door or you can on eventbrite.com and purchase there in advance,” said Jim Blair, executive director of the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.

Those not able to attend the concert can send donations for the Merle statute to the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame’s via mail.

Send donations marked as “Merle Bench” on the memo line to the address below:

P.O. Box #3221
Muskogee, Oklahoma 74402

Donations can also be made in-person at the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame, or at Muskogee's G Fest this June 16-18. Haggard was originally scheduled to headline the festival before his passing.
