Oklahoma moving up in rankings for teacher pay

A new state-by-state comparison of teacher salaries shows that Oklahoma is moving up.

Statewide pay raises approved for teachers last year helped.

Oklahoma was stuck at 49th in the nation for teacher pay for the last few years.

But a new ranking by the National Education Association shows the state is now 34th.

Right now - lawmakers are considering a bill that would allow for another $1,200 raise.
