The State Department of Health won't review or take submissions until Aug. 25.

An attorney for Green the Vote said a provision in SQ 788 makes it only a misdemeanor offense (fine up tp $400/no more than 1.5 lbs of marijuana) for someone who can state a medical condition for using marijuana. Attorney Ron Durbin said this provision passed by voters conflicts with an existing state statute and would need to be addressed by the state legislature.

Right now a medical marijuana working group comprised of state lawmakers are meeting every Wednesday at the Oklahoma State Capitol to draft up a more permanent legal framework and regulatory process.
