BROKEN BOW, Okla. -- A Broken Bow man was arrested early Saturday morning after they said he drove faster than 100 miles per hour while intoxicated.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers who were patrolling the Hochatown area arrested 30-year-old Evan Smalling after pulling him over on Highway 259.

Troopers said Smalling was driving 105 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone.

Troopers said Smalling performed "extremely poorly" on sobriety tests.

The OHP says it has increased patrols in the Hochatown area after many alcohol-related crashes across the last several years.

Hochatown is a popular weekend destination spot for many in Oklahoma, Arkansas and north Texas.
