Oklahoma Democratic Party pushes for investigation into spending of Sen. Inhofe

The Oklahoma Democratic Party is requesting an investigation into Republican U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe.

The Democrats are asking the U.S. Senate select committee on ethics to look into his spending, claiming he is flagrantly misusing taxpayer funds for personal use.

The party said Inhofe uses his official government office to do personal business with his company and he significantly underestimated the company's holdings.

"The address listed on the financial disclosure document for the condo, for the aircraft are all listed at 1924 South Utica Suite 530. The exact same office and the exact same suite of his official Senate office," said Alicia Andrews, chair of the Oklahoma Democratic Party. "I'm asking for Oklahomans, we pay the rent on that space. I'm asking for an explanation."

Inhofe said, "Yet again, the only thing the Democrats can come up with are false attacks against me. They won't distract me from doing my only job: protecting Oklahoma families from a radical liberal agenda."

The Oklahoma GOP chairman also released a statement calling this a baseless attack.
