OKLAHOMA CITY -- Patients injured from the catastrophic flooding in Texas could be evacuated and flown to Oklahoma.

The Department of Veterans Affairs, which is the federal agency coordinating medical evacuees, said Oklahoma City area hospitals and first responders are on standby for flights to arrive into Will Rogers World Airport.

A spokesperson for the VA said at this time there is no confirmation any patients are being evacuated to Oklahoma yet.

2 Works For You learned patients would arrive by military transport aircraft.

Once the patients land, paramedics would take them to the hospitals.
