OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A large grass fire was reported in southeast Oklahoma City amid warnings by weather forecasters that wildfires are likely in parts of Oklahoma.

Firefighters responded to reports of a grass fire in the Oklahoma City area Sunday afternoon. Officials say the fire is a threat to some structures in the region. Fire crews are on the scene and are working to extinguish the blaze.

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a fire weather warning for parts of northern, western, central and southern Oklahoma through Sunday night. Forecasters say there is an elevated potential for wildfires due to unseasonably warm temperatures and breezy south to southwest winds.

In spite of the warning, forecasters say wildfire conditions are expected to remain below critical levels.
