TULSA – The identity of the man who died after being struck by a vehicle on Saturday has been released.
Lonnie Bean, 54, was reportedly struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Interstate 44 east of Yale Avenue, says Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Bean was transported to a nearby hospital but later was declared dead after suffering head and internal injuries, report authorities.
The driver of the 2005 Ford Escape that struck Bean was Michael Francisco, 27. Francisco was also transported and treated for minor head and internal injuries.
A passenger in Francisco’s vehicle reportedly ran from the scene, says OHP.
OHP went on to report that both the condition of the driver and the cause of collision are under investigation.
