A young man swimming with friends near the Hawthorn Bluff Fishing Area at Oologah Lake drowned on Sunday.
State troopers identified the victim as 19-year-old Yerson Manuel Garcia De Luna of Tulsa.
OHP says the victim was with friends in the swimming area when he began to struggle. He reportedly went under the water and never resurfaced.
According to the incident report, the victim was not wearing a life jacket. His body was recovered in about seven feet of water.
