Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a 4-year-old drowned at Lake Eufaula Thursday morning.

Troopers said the stepdad came home at 3:30 a.m. from work and found the victim in his bed asleep.

When the mother and stepdad woke up around 10:30 a.m., they found a door open and the child missing, troopers said.

Troopers said the child's body was found by a Eufaula fire fighter approximately 150 yards west of the residence, which is located in the 415000 block of East 1215 Road in the South Point area.
