TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma Forestry Commission says there's an increased danger for wildfires across much of the state throughout the weekend.
Officials say warm temperatures, clear skies and low relative humidity will result in very dry conditions. And, with wind gusts forecast to be more than 20 mph -- with higher gusts in places -- fires could spread quickly as drying conditions continue to expand for the weekend.
Earlier this month, the same weather conditions contributed to a batch of wildfires that charred dozens of square miles throughout Oklahoma.
The National Weather Service in Tulsa says there's a red flag warning for parts of northeastern Oklahoma on Saturday, and cautioned against outdoor burning.
