MAYES COUNTY, Okla. — Mayes County Sheriff's Office officials said an elderly man has died in a house fire in Salina.
Major Rod Howell said fire crews responded to the fire at 522 North 422.8 Road at approximately midnight Wednesday.
Howell said when crews arrived on the scene, the house was fully engulfed and it eventually burned to the ground.
Once investigators began searching the home, they found an elderly victim deceased, Howell said.
Howell said the cause of the fire and the victim's death have not been determined.
The name of the victim will not be released until the medical examiner's office can positively identify the victim, Howell said.
