Oklahoma Education Association members have drafted a petition to impeach president Alecia Priest and vice-president Katherine Bishop.
The petition, which was written by elected zone delegates, states the removal of Priest and Bishop, due to "omitting to perform an act which they were obligated to do while serving as officers of OEA."
The petition states that Priest and Bishop failed to achieve a unified message during the teacher walkout. The walkout lasted nine days.
"While the president claimed during press conferences that OEA members were polled to support ending the walk-out, the poll did not include all members of OEA, and the poll was poorly written and did not follow standards for soliciting accurate information from survey participants," the petition read.
The OEA has not issued a replied back on the petition.
