OKMULGEE COUNTY, Okla. -- Two Oklahoma Department of Transportation workers were taken to the hospital Tuesday morning after a crash involving a semi truck.

Officials said an ODOT truck was struck on Highway 75 just north of State Highway 16 just after 9:30 a.m.

The ODOT crew was working a sign repair job when their vehicle struck in the rear by the driver of a semi truck hauling a load of heavy steel beams.

The ODOT workers were ejected from their vehicle and taken to Tulsa hospitals. Both workers are in stable condition, officials said.

The ODOT driver, a 45-year-old man, had a broken arm and a 19-year-old passenger had a collapsed lung and broken collar bone. The injuries are expected to be non life-threatening.

The semi truck driver refused treatment at the scene.
