OKLAHOMA -- The recent ice storm is causing a critical problem at blood banks across the state.
The Oklahoma Blood Institute said the winter weather critically impacted the supply because of closures and road conditions.
The group says only half the donors needed to maintain the supply have been donated in the last three days.
Oklahoma Blood Institute extended its hours at all donor centers for Friday until 6 p.m., and Saturday until 4 p.m.
