The Nowata County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook that they are searching for an escaped inmate.
On their Facebook post, officials said 24-year-old Caleb Epple escaped from the Nowata County Jail on Monday at approximately 8 p.m.
Officials said two jailers, who were not completely trained, were on duty when Epple escaped.
One of the jailers went to the locker area to dispense medication, when Epple was able to walk out the front door of the jail, officials said.
According to court records, Epple was charged on May 1 with burglary in the first degree and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after being arrested by deputies back on April 22.
His bond was set to $50,000, court records said.
