Nowata County Sheriff resigns, says stress factored into decision

NOWATA COUNTY, Okla. -- The Nowata County Sheriff handed in his resignation Monday, citing stress as the reason behind the move.

Rick Miller served as the sheriff for two years. Miller has been with the department for a total of 15 years.

The current undersheriff is currently taking over Miller's responsibilities until the position is filled.

The process could take several weeks to complete.
