NOWATA COUNTY, Okla. — OHP Lake Patrol recovered the body of an 84-year-old man in Nowata County on Tuesday morning.

Deputies said Ron Baker from Chelsea, Oklahoma went missing Friday, May 22, around 10:30 p.m. in the Big Creek area.

Several agencies and volunteers were involved in the effort to find him.

Baker's family had been in the Big Creek area during the entire search and were there when the body was recovered.

Authorities do not believe that foul play was involved.

Deputies said the river waters are known to be unpredictable. They believe that somehow the current knocked Baker into the water where he eventually drowned.
