TULSA, Okla. — Grab the lawn chairs and a blanket, and bring the family out for an evening under the stars to watch family-friendly movies.
Northlawn Cinema announced Wednesday it is hosting a free viewing of the cult classic 1978 film "The Wiz," starring Diana Ross and Michael Jackson.
The pop-up movie company said the film will be shown on a state of the art digital 20 foot screen with surround sound.
"Movies in the Park" is set to take place Saturday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. at O’Brien Park.
The company said mask-wearing and social distancing will be practiced during the event.
Northlawn Cinema, in partnership with the Tulsa County Parks and local food trucks are proud to provide the community a convenient, safe, family-friendly, fun event to help reduce stress on families during these difficult times of social distancing. And it is particularly heartfelt that the showing is “The Wiz” which is a cult classic in the Black community.
