A north Tulsa man says he's lucky to be alive after his home caught fire early Monday morning.
Mikell Darity says he was sleeping in his truck, which is parked in his North Pittsburg Avenue driveway, when neighbors tried to move it away from the fire.
"They went to see if they could move the truck, and that's when I woke up and I jumped out of the truck and I noticed the house was on fire," Darity said.
Darity says he fell asleep in his truck while charging his cell phone and listening to the radio.
His house has no utilities.
Tulsa firefighters say neighbors thought they heard an explosion around 1:30 a.m.
They ran to the home to check on Darity before eventually finding him safe in his truck.
The Red Cross gave Darity a $200 voucher toward food and lodging. He will be contacting his church for help because he says he has no one else who can help him.
"I got two blankets from them. So I'll just go back to sleep in my truck and wake up and wish it was all a dream,” he said.
