TULSA — The Tulsa Advocates for the Protection of Children are collecting school uniforms and supplies needed for Tulsa's children in foster care.

The nonprofit is proving supplies and uniforms for children in grades pre-K through 12th grade.

There are about 1,400 children in the Tulsa County foster care system.

"Often times they come into custody, they do not have anything to call their own," said Chris Siemens, executor director with TAPC. "And going back to school they no supplies, no uniforms, so we're here to supply them and meet their needs."

You can drop off donations at the Foster Family Resource Center at 3326 East 51st St on July 30 and August 1 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
