BARTLESVILLE, Okla. -- No charges will be filed against Bartlesville police officers after an investigation into a deadly officer-involved shooting on Jan. 17.

On Jan. 17, police were executing a search warrant regarding illegal drug sales on Maple Street in Bartlesville when the shooting occurred.

During the warrant, a man identified as Michael Livingston complied with commands and was arrested a the home.

As Livingston was being arrested, officers searched the home for additional occupants when one officer felt something strike his leg and heard a popping noise.

Officers said Geraldine Townsend, 72, was seen pointing a handgun at officers. According to documents, officers told Townsend to drop the gun, and when she wouldn't drop it, an exchange of gunfire occurred.

Townsend was hit and an officer had facial injuries. Townsend was taken to the hospital where she later died.

Police said marijuana, monitors and a police radio were found in the home. Police said Townsend's weapon was a replica BB gun, which resembled real handguns.

The Washington County District Attorney's Office said no charges were warranted based on an OSBI investigation into the incident.
