New sheriff's to be sworn in across nine Oklahoma counties in January 2017

There is a new sheriff in town … in nine counties across Oklahoma to be exact.

The Oklahoma Sheriff’s Association is readying for several newly elected sheriffs to be sworn in on January 3.

  • Adair County voted in Independent candidate Jason Eli Ritchie.
  • Craig County voted in Democratic candidate Heath Winfrey.
  • Haskell County voted in Democratic candidate Tim Turner. 
  • Muskogee County voted in Democratic candidate Rob Frazier.
  • Nowata County voted in Democratic candidate Rick Miller.
  • Okfuskee County voted in Republican candidate Steven Worley
  • Osage County voted in Republican candidate Eddie Virden
  • Ottawa County voted in Republican candidate Jeremy Floyd.
  • Sequoyah County voted in Republican candidate Larry Lane.
