TULSA — The Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation on Friday morning announced new shops that will be developed near 11th and Lewis.
The Shops at Mother Road Market will open on the southwest corner of the intersection, and will feature five retail spaces for local entrepreneurs.
The shops will also feature 32 additional parking spaces and patio space.
“Through review platforms, social media feedback and personal feedback our team has received, we have recognized that our customer base is interested in additional retail in this area,” said LTFF CEO and President Elizabeth Frame Ellison. “We believe that Shops at Mother Road Market will give the customers what they want, while also continuing to inspire a culture of entrepreneurship along Route 66.”
Officials said they are keeping the original building at 11th and Lewis, but will be adding on and modernizing the building.
Two of the five spaces will be for established retail businesses, while three other spaces will be filled by startup ventures. The leasing process for the startup retailers will follow a competition that includes filling out a form here.
The shops are expected to open in spring 2020.
