According to a press release from the Tulsa based company, OilFire Rye Whiskey, Nashville recording artist C.J. Garton and his 13-year-old son Clinton are coming back to Oklahoma...on horseback.

Garton and his son will be riding 646 miles through 4 states from Nashville back to their family homestead in Depew, Oklahoma, which is right outside Bristow, Oklahoma.

The father and son duo will be riding their horses, Poncho and Lefty.

Officials say that Garton believes this journey is a great way to introduce Clinton to "the America he loves to sing about."

The 30-day journey has already caused several challenges; mending fences, crossing rivers, and reattaching thrown horseshoes, to name a few.

Garton and Clinton are taking this time to meet people and share stories of their adventure, officials say.
