TULSA – The woman dubbed as the “renowned social and cultural etiquette expert” is scheduled to speak at a Junior League of Tulsa event this week.

Myka Meier is the keynote speaker for the fourth annual Mentorship Luncheon event to be held January 22 at the Southern Hills Country Club.

JLT is thrilled that the event will feature Myka as keynote speaker. She is founder and director of Beaumont Etiquette of Manhattan, New York. Meier is an expert in Social, Business, and Dining & Royal Etiquette. Before founding Beaumont Etiquette, Meier had gained years of experience studying etiquette in the United Kingdom, including under a former member of The Royal Household of Her Majesty the Queen. It is Meier’s goal to break down the stereotype that etiquette is outdated, inaccessible, and intimidating to learn. Her extensive knowledge and expertise has led to recognition from ABC’s Good Morning America, The New York Observer, Elle Magazine, and many more. Meier believes that mentorship and etiquette can instill confidence and knowledge in female leaders and professionals which falls right in line with one of JLT’s key missions: to develop the potential of women.

The mentorship luncheon is a mission based endeavor for JLT. According to Mentorship Luncheon committee chair Harlan Ross, "The Luncheon allows us to live our JLT mission of developing women in our communities through programming AND scholarship,” said Ross. In addition to benefiting others, the luncheon is an opportunity to grow your own skills. “You won't want to miss out on the opportunity to be inspired by the hard work of our scholarship recipients, celebrate your mentor or mentee, and to enhance your social etiquette skills with an internationally acclaimed speaker," said Ross.

The deadline to purchase tickets is January 20 at 11:59 p.m. Click here for more information.

A portion of the proceeds from the Mentorship Luncheon will be dedicated to honoring high school seniors who have shown a commitment to volunteerism and to non-traditional students returning to their studies through the Junior League of Tulsa’s scholarship program. The recipients of the 2016 scholarship awards will be recognized at the event.
