Muskogee Public Schools will be closed Friday, March 13, to disinfect and thoroughly clean its facilities, according to Dr. Jarod Mendenhall, superintendent.
In an announcement on the school's Facebook page, Mendenhall says over spring break, they will clean and disinfect all school sites and school buses across their district.
He also said that school district facilities will not be available during spring break, including locker rooms, athletic facilities and fine arts areas.
After the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association postponed the state basketball tournament this weekend, Mendenhall said that all activities beginning Friday will be canceled until further notice, including all athletics, fine arts and school sanctioned events.
Additionally, Mendenhall asked that those planning to travel out-of-state or the country, should notify their school principal.
Mendenhall said there has not been a case of coronavirus, nor any confirmation of anyone quarantined in Muskogee.
