The city of Muskogee is joining the legal fight against opioid companies and their role in the opioid crisis.
The Muskogee Phoenix reports that the city filed a lawsuit Friday.
It named 32 companies that are "pharmaceutical defendants and distributors."
The city claims these companies practiced deceptive marketing that did not represent the risks of opioids.
The city is asking for economic damages for costs to eliminate the quote, "hazards to public health and safety."
